What is AuthProxy?

The HTTP Proxy-Authenticate response header defines the authentication method that should be used to gain access to a resource behind a proxy server. It authenticates the request to the proxy server, allowing it to transmit the request further.

What is the main role of AuthProxy?

In multi-tier environments, proxy authentication allows you to control the security of middle-tier applications by preserving client identities and privileges through all tiers, and auditing actions are taken on behalf of clients. For example, this feature allows the identity of a user using a web application (also known as a "proxy") to be passed through the application to the database server.

Authenticating Through Proxy

The AuthProxy connector returns identities based on authentication which your front-end web server performs. Restya core consumes the X-Remote-User header set by the proxy, which is then used as the user’s email address.
The proxy MUST remove any X-Remote-headers set by the client, for any URL path, before the request is forwarded to Restya core.
The connector does not support refresh tokens or groups.
