Basic Terminology

What is a Statement of Work in Project Management?

A Statement of Work (SOW) is a proper report that defines the complete scope of labor concerned for a supplier and clarifies deliverables, costs, and timeline. It is wanted while a task includes providers and outside participants further to the inner task group. You commonly create an SOW as a part of a bid report or a part of a contract. It is critical that the SOW is apparent to all stakeholders with the intention to make clear the metrics for achievement and keep away from disputes concerning deliverables, budgets, or timelines.

The assertion of labor must include:
  • All deliverables and due dates
  • The character responsibilities that cause the deliverable, and whom those responsibilities are assigned to.
  • The assets wished for the task together with facilities, equipment, and QA procedures.
  • The governance system for the task
  • Costs and closing dates for payment.
Other phrases associated with the assertion of labor are task charter and task targets.
